Dan Parsons lives and works in Aberdeen, South Dakota. A South Dakota native, Parsons' interest in wildlife and the natural world is merely an extension of his early years. He has lived with, studied, sketched and painted the natural wonders of the Dakotas for his entire life.

"My functian as an artist is to provide a window into the natural habitat of the animals I paint. If I grab the feeling of an early morning sunrise, whistle of wings overhead or smell of cut grain, I've done my job well."

Parsons works have been exhibited throughout the Dakotas and Minnesota. He moved from St. Paul to the Aberdeen, South Dakota area in 1989 and opened the Tall Grass Prairie Studio in 1998, selling originals and prints.
